Diamond Coatings now offer an outstanding new range of specifically designed, premium-quality ITO glass slides for R & D applications.
Research & Development ITO Glass Slides
Our new research & development slides consist of soda lime float glass (thickness: 1.1 mm) with a high-quality ITO coating (resistivity: 1.6 x 10-6 Ohm.m) and a specially developed 25 nm thick barrier coating of silicon oxide (SiO2).
Soda Lime Float Glass
Relatively inexpensive to manufacture, soda lime float glass is the most popular material used for glass slides. The manufacturing process involves glass being drawn over molten Tin vats and results in one side of the glass (the air, or up-facing side) being both smoother and flatter than the other (the Tin, or down-facing side).
This type of glass is available in thermally or chemically toughened or standard options and can be cut to a range of different sizes as required.
SiO2 Barrier Positioning and Purpose
The SiO2 layer is positioned between the glass and the ITO coating to inhibit sodium (Na) ions diffusing out of the soda lime glass. Without this barrier, the diffusion of sodium ions could cause disruption of the ITO coatings’ performance, as well as the performance of devices grown upon it. Both the longevity and quality of Indium Tin Oxide coated glass slides are subsequently enhanced by the silicon oxide layer.
Currently Available Grades
Our ITO coated slides are currently available in three different grades:
- Standard 88% Transmittance,15 Ohm/sq ITO Coating
- Standard 82% Transmittance, 5 Ohm/sq ITO Coating
- OLED Grade 86% Transmittance, 15 Ohm/sq ITO Coating
The latter (OLED Grade) option features a smoother surface than that of the standard options.
ITO Slide Size Options
We currently stock a range of standard slide sizes including:
- 20 x 10 mm
- 25 x 25 mm and
- 75 x 25 mm
Other sizes to meet specific customer requirements can also be provided. Please note that the maximum size available is 400 mm x 500 mm.
