AR Coated Glass

AR Coated Glass

Just in case you are not sure, let’s start with the acronym… AR stands for anti reflective. So anti reflective coated glass is where we are at… The obvious benefits of AR coated glass are clear (sorry), and this makes AR coated glass a popular choice in a variety of environments and applications.

Anti Reflective Coated Glass Applications

In an external environment, AR coated glass has traditionally been used in control towers, architectural windows – both on a domestic and commercial level, and even to separate spectators at sporting events – the last thing you want there is a reflection!

Internal applications include usage within museums and galleries, allowing the art to be showcased in the best way. Aquariums and Zoos also use AR coated glass to great effect. Retail situations also use anti reflective glass both in store fronts and internal display units.

Recording studios and Television studios also utilise this type of glass, for obvious reasons. Large format advertising in external situations can sometime use AR coated glass too.

Another benefit to anti reflective coated glass, especially in naturally well-lit areas or externally is the UV barrier it provides, reducing discolouration of items exposed to direct sunlight.
